Basil flower
by Henrik (28/06/10)
For almost a year I have had a basil plant struggling for survival in my kitchen. I did not think it would still be alive after a such long time and I definitely did not think it would produce a flower for me. I had never seen a basil flower before so I feel happy that I got the opportunity to do so in my very own kitchen.

As you can see, these are only the first of many flowers on the stem.

This years balcony decorations.
by Henrik (27/06/10)
This year I choose to make decorations for my balcony out of clay. Me and my girlfriend spent a few evenings molding, painting and varnish a couple of clay creations. Here are pictures on all of them.

The bridge at Slottsmöllan
by Henrik (21/06/10)
This is the oldest bridge in Halmstad. It was built in 1879 and is still used by both pedestrians and cars. I shoot these photos using two new filters I bought for my camera. One ND-filter [Länk] specifically bought for long exposure during the day and one Polarizing filter because the ND-filter wasn't enough. I wanted as long exposures as I could get. The longest I got on the bridge and river was 0.4 second.

On Hallands väderö I got the opportunity to photograph two birds I have never seen before. A Yellowhammer and a Ringed Plover.

Summer project report
by Henrik (18/06/10)
Thing are going good. Well, mistakes have been made, but I'm still satisfied with the results. The mistakes are putting out the Moonflowers to early and using loose, low-nutrition soil to cultivate the plants in. I thought the loose soil would let the plants grow big roots, but the soil didn't supply some of the plants with the right amounts of nutrition to grow big.

On this picture you can see almost all of the plants. It is only Sensitive plants that hasn't been moved out.
New York 1997
by Henrik (15/06/10)
I've found two pictures on my hard drive that are from two old photos I took in New York 1997. I remember scanning them in the same of or so. So they have been collection dust for many years on my hard drive. I thought it would be fun to share them with internet on my blog.

The famous pre-2001 New York silhouette.

The view from Empire state building.
Hallands väderö
by Henrik (14/06/10)
About two weeks ago, me and my girlfriend were invited by her parents to join them on a trip to Hallands väderö. It is a Nature reserve located on a island close to Sweden's west coast. Of course I saw this an opportunity to photograph some nature and I took a lot of photographs. I will, as usual, post my favorites in a series of blog posts.
In this post I'm including pictures on the landscapes and trees that can be found the island.

New flowers (Birthday gifts)
by Henrik (08/06/10)
As usual I had my birthday in April and this year I received several new plants. With this post I will quickly introduce them all.

A Calamondin (Citrus Microcarpa). I'm excited to see if I can manage to keep this one alive.
Removed sub-categories
by Henrik (07/06/10)
Today I removed all the sub-categories under "Plant, Garden" and "Plant, House" and added new tags to the posts that belonged to them. Felt the sub-categories started to become to numerous and would one day become two very long lists.
Hertig Knut (Duke Knut)
by Henrik (07/06/10)
Four meter up on the corner of a house in central Halmstad stands a statue of Duke Knut. It was made in 1985 by local sculptor, painter and printmaker Walter Bengtsson. "Duke Knut" is a real historic knight. His full name is Knut Porse and he was the Duke of Halland during the 14th century. It is said that he's the one that gave Halmstad its name.

Troll Assault Wagon
by Henrik (05/06/10)
Another LEGO Space Troll piece. As with the Walker it was also designed in LDD, but the piece below differer slightly from the initial design. The initial turret design was not practical in reality so I had to make minor adjustments to it.

The piece follows the same design principles as the walker. Lots of red parts and not much protection for the crew. The Trolls like to paint their vehicle with red. That's their color of war.
