Plants gone (Plants update)
by Henrik (21/02/10)
I just wanted to quickly say that this winter I have lost four of my plants. My two Poinsettias and two Benjamin's Figs. As usually not sure why, but it is probably my fault somehow. I'll probably not buy a new Poinsettia until next Christmas, but a new Benjamin's Fig I will buy as soon as I find a new potential bonsai.
Introducing: Two cuttings
by Henrik (20/09/09)

These two plants are two cuttings I have cultivate for some time. It's a Benjamin's Fig and a Poinsettia. I haven't bother to mention these plants before for two reasons. One is that I was afraid that the Benjamin's Fig would die on me at any moment, and the other is that I didn't know it I would keep the Poinsettia or not. But the Benjamin's Fig is doing great and the Poinsettia will replace another cutting that died a while ago. I going to treat both as potential bonsais.
My beautiful Benjamin's Fig has withered badly.
by Henrik (20/09/09)

I have once again failed in caring for a Benjamin's Fig. I'm annoyed and disappointed in myself for letting this one wither as much as I did. It is still alive sand I might, given time, restore it to something that looks good (that is, if I don't fail again).
House plant report: Two dead plants
by Henrik (20/09/09)
Two house plants died on me during the summer.

My Parlour Palm has more or less been slowly dying under my care. I had difficulty giving it the right amount of water. It always looked like I gave it to much water or to little.

This is the Poinsettia I received as a house warming gift. It started to look pale and I tried to combat it by giving the plant some fertilizer. But after some time I saw that the fertilizer didn't do anything and I thought that replanting it might make it regain its colors. But when I took the Poinsettia out of its pot, I saw that its roots had almost completely rotten away. I hoped it would recover after the replanting, but sadly it didn't.
I small consolation is that I managed to get a cutting from it before it died. I plan on introducing that plant in an another post.
New Benjamin’s fig
by Henrik (12/03/09)
I wasn't too happy about my second Benjamin’s fig dying and ever since I have been actively looking for a new one. So every time I was in a place where they sold plants I kept my eyes open for Benjamin’s figs and during a trip to a flower store I found a Benjamin’s fig for me.

I had plants to turn the old one into a pontensai and the new fig I have found has even more potential to become bonsai than the old one (that if I manage to treat it right).
Dead plant
by Henrik (13 December 2008)
My Benjamin’s fig is dead. The one I had before lasted for more then 10 years and I hardly took care of it. So I was surprised to see me failing to take care of my second one.

But I will try again.
Cuttings (new and old ones)
by Henrik (8 August 2008)

These Poinsettia branches have been keep in water for 6 months now. They are from the Poinsettia in my living room. I put them in water because I didn’t want to throw them away and I wanted to see how long they will survive in water only. So I’m not planing to plant them in soil at all.

I cut of two branches off from my Benjamin’s fig plant and put them in water. I wanted them to develop roots. After two week, no roots and all the leafs all dried up, so my little experiment failed.
New Houseplant
by Henrik (11 July 2008)
I have bought a Benjamin’s Fig. I have plans to make it into a new potensai.

The Kalanchoe is still alive and blooming. Doesn’t look that great though.
