Rain shadow

Saw this bike with a "rain shadow" right outside my apartment. A cool effect caused by the bike laying down during a short rain.

Snow lantern

Yay, it has been snowing again. It is always nice when the winter comes with snow and not just cold temperatures. My SO thinks the same and celebrated the snow fall by building this snow lantern.

Cupcake

This is one of several chocolate cupcakes my girlfriend made one day. I thought it looked so nice I had to photograph it. Although there were mint chocolate in the middle (not my favorite type of chocolate) I thought they tasted great too.

Mobile park

by Henrik (10/05/10) Email

My latest LEGO creation, a small mobile park. It is a concept that was inspired by the Mobil pool in a Simpsons episode. At first I only thought about it as a silly thing, but I then though it could have been a part of a dystopian world where people don't have access to green areas. If I had own more bricks, I would have build a gray urban surrounding to place the park in.

LEGO Shaun the Sheep

by Henrik (12/04/10) Email

Setting up Star Wars LEGO diorama and photographing them got me in to building with LEGO again. Below are photos on my first creation I found good enough to post about. It is a LEGO version of Shaun the Sheep. I think my LEGO version is as cute as the claymation Shaun.

More photos on light bulbs.

by Henrik (19/01/10) Email

Last post (at least for a while) on light bulbs. This time on two old style lamps and a newer compact fluorescent light bulb.

Light bulb

I don't think I properly explained why I been photographing light bulbs lately. It is simply because I want to do my part in documenting the old style light bulbs. The old incandescent light bulb has been in common use for over a hundred years and now thanks to EU they're being phased out (The EU has prohibited the manufacturing and importation of the light bulbs). So the next generation of citizens in EU will probably not use them at all and will only have photos like these to show them what they looked like.

When I photographed the old light bulb I took the time to also photograph its replacement - The compact fluorescent lamp.

The old and common light bulb is a technology that is being phased out here in the EU. So I'm taking the time to photograph them while they are still common and easy to get hold of. The light bulb below is a 25 Watt bulb and it was backlit by a 50 Watt halogen lamp.

A back lit Coca Cola bottle

by Henrik (21/12/09) Email

This is a Coca Cola bottle that I finally after some trial and error found a nice way to light. I tried lighting it from the sides but it looked terrible. I wasn't until I held the bottle in my hand and had a light behind it, that I found out that back lit is the way to go.

I choose to photograph a Coca Cola bottle simply because I like that they have their own special shape. I like how the Coca Cola logo is included in the shape of the bottle. Not just added on with a label.
