Gilders
by Henrik (1 May 2008)
On my last day at Chamonix, these glider where everywhere. I have no idea what they are called, where they came from or where they landed. Saw no airplane and didn’t see any good landing spots in the valley. Maybe they just jumped of a cliff and didn’t care very much about where they landed.

3842 meters above sea level and over 1800 meters to the valley below! I have been on airplane rides that never reached those heights. It’s a no-brainer that this mountain peak offers amazing views.

These photos were taken from inside a moving car. I snapped them all on our way to Chamonix from the Geneve airport. Hard to get everything right when you only have one chance to take the picture. The photos have only been resized and not cut.

Chamonix

Early this year I went on a short trip to Chamonix. The goal was to have fun and do some snowboarding, but I ended up taking a lot of pictures as well. The last day I skipped snowboarding completely to take photographs and ride the lift up to Aiguille du Midi (3842 m meters above the sea level). So this is the introduction post to a new series of blog posts in which I post my favorite photos from the trip.
