The Tiger Temple - Part 3 (the non-tigers post)

by Henrik (12/02/11) Email

Last post with pictures from the Tiger Temple. This time with photos on non-tiger animals. There were a lot of other animals roaming around freely on the temple grounds and I didn't waste any opportunity to take photographs of them. They were mostly farm animals, but we saw some wild animals too. These are the best pictures I managed to take on them.

by Henrik (10/02/11) Email

While being in Bangkok we decided to make a visit to Jim Thompson's House. Jim Thompson was man that made his fortune in Thailand and decided to spend it by collecting various traditional Thailand object. Everything from china to houses. The place had a luscious garden that was a sharp contrast against the regular cityscape in bangkok. Here are few photos I took in the garden.

The Tiger Temple (with Tigers!) - Part 1

Tiger Temple

I still have plenty of pictures from my Thailand/Cambodia trip to show and I'm no way near the end of posting them. This time I'm posting my pictures from our visit to the Tiger Temple with Tigers. I have to add "with Tigers" because I was told there are many temples called "Tiger Temple", but this one is the only one with real tigers. The trip to the temple was something I planed in advance because I had seen photos from it were people were petting the tigers. I really wanted my own chance at petting a tiger. The photos I had seen before the trip from the Temple, made it seem like the tigers were awake and free roaming when you meet them. In reality they were chained and asleep. I was told they were sleeping because they are nocturnal, but after goggling the temple I found allegations claiming the animals are in fact drugged to allow tourist to get near them.

Thailand Lizard

by Henrik (04/01/10) Email

This is a lizard I stumbled over in Thailand. It was chilling out between my bungalow and the pool. As with all the wild life in Thailand, I don't know its name or anything else about it.

Asian elevators and theirs max limits

by Henrik (16/12/09) Email

Well it is quite apparent that Asian people are smaller than us Scandinavians, but it was still weird every time I read in an elevators how many people was suppose to be able to fit inside it. It didn't match up with the max weight and the size of the elevator.

Photos taken while I was on a boat during a light rain. Gave me the opportunity to take gray-scale pictures without turning on the gray-scale option.

Landscapes of Thailand - The cliffs during the evening

by Henrik (14/08/09) Email

More photos on the cliffs in Thailand. These photos were taken late during the day when the sun was low.

Cliffs during the evening

I felt these photos on cliffs should be in their on post because they have better colors compared to the photos I took during the midday sun. They do not have as washed out colors as in many of the photos I took in Thailand have.

Landscapes of Thailand - Islands

More proof that Thailand havn't had an ice age.
Island
The composition might not be perfect on these pictures, when cropping the pictures I wanted to include the whole shape of the islands and be as close up as possible.

The cliffs in Thailand is definitely different from the ones in Sweden. The country obviously haven't had an ice age to soften the rough edges on their cliffs.

Landscapes of Thailand

by Henrik (11/08/09) Email

I feel I have been slacking off when it comes to posting photos from my trip to Thailand. I have so many photos from Thailand I really need to pick up the pace if I'm going to finish this series of post before the next big trip. Many off the photos I took was on the various landscapes and I will try to make several blog posts that shows off those photos.

Here is a little teaser photo.
Krabi

The photo shows the view from my hotel in Krabi. Unfortunately I know nothing about this little mountain. I would like to know its name.

A Toad

by Henrik (06/04/09) Email

These photos are from my trip to Thailand. I found a couple of frogs in a pond next to the reception of the "Hotel" we stayed at on Phi Phi island. They did not seem to care that I was close by taking photographs of them. I'm pretty sure the photos below are of the same toad.

Cute Dog

Cute Dog

This is a puppy that was running around inside a restaurant we ate at in Krabi (Thailand). Normally I wouldn't approve of dogs running around in restaurants, but this little fellow was a exception. I couldn't say "get the fuck out" to those eyes.

Monkey beach

by Henrik (08/02/09) Email

On Phi Phi Islands there is a beach where tourists go to look at monkey. So as tourists in Thailand we also went there for a quick peek. Not the cutest things in the world but still interesting to look at for a while.
