Butterflies cocoons

by Henrik (05/08/09) Email

In the Butterfly House they had placed a lot of the butterflies cocoons in one place for us visitors to look at. Not nearly as beautiful as the end-product but I thought it would be interesting to post a few pictures on them anyways.

Blue and Yellow Macaws

by Henrik (04/08/09) Email

Pictures on two of the other birds at the Butterfly House. They are both Blue and Yellow Macaw birds. Because the birds were behind a net it was hard to get any good full body shots. Maybe the next time I meet these kind of birds.

Poison dart frogs

In a terrarium at the Butterfly House they keep a bunch of Poison dart frogs. They were hard to photograph because they keep moving around quickly. But I managed to snap two good photos on two Dendrobates Azureus frogs.

An Orange-winged Amazon

by Henrik (02/08/09) Email

At the butterfly house they didn't only have butterflies, they had several different animals, such as fishes, frogs and birds. Below is pictures on one of their birds. If I'm not mistaken it is a Orange-winged Amazon. According to Wikipedia they are suppose to have orange feathers under the green ones that are visible when they fly.
