Dumb Cane being dumb

by Henrik (08/11/09) Email

Some months ago I started to find the stems of my Dumb Cane falling over one by one. For some reason the stems had lost all their roots. I picked them up and placed them in cups of water, hoping that they would grow new roots. After a few weeks some the stems had healthy roots growing out of them. I took two of the stems with roots and replanted them in a pot. I'm not sure why the stems lost their roots, but I do know that the stems looked better than ever after a few weeks in water. So I'm guessing that I need to make sure the soil is constantly moist to make sure the stems never loses their roots again.
