The Guarded Inn - Green Dragon Style

Once again I have to pleasure to introduce you to my biggest MOC ever. Again it's a medieval themed, this time it's a guarded Inn on the outskirt of the Green dragon's realm. I got the inspiration for this piece from the 6067 and the 7947 sets. That's why the building is mostly black with some parts in dark bluish gray or reddish brown. I wanted to include something in the dark green color as well, but couldn't think of anything that would fit in that color. The house got to be yellow to brighten up the building a little.

...

I tried to make the environment around the Inn is to look desolate and hostile. I had thoughts of making it in tan, but choose light blue gray because I didn't own enough tan bricks. The family of wolf-people was added to show some of the dangers that lurks around the Inn (and because I thought they would look cute).

Things I would like to point out.
* The tower roof. I think I made it more interesting than they usually are.
* The backside of the house. I think I made it look good even though I had to work with a odd-number-width.
* Brown plates under the slopes to soften the zig-zag line under the roof.
* The rotated log pieces. Something I haven't seen before. Creates a nice wall texture.
* Got in two wall pieces nicely in the build.

The Guarded Inn
A wandering knight and his esquire.
They are negotiating entrance to the inn or something. Not completely sure what I was thinking while making this scene. *tongue-sticking-out-smiley*

A family of wolf-people.

The Guarded Inn
The yard. A peasant is fixing his cart.

When designing the defensive walls I worked hard to resist the urge to decorate them. I didn't want them to look like a wall on a Gothic church or palace. I wanted them to look like real defensive walls. But as you can see I couldn't resist the urge completely.
