Snow lantern

Yay, it has been snowing again. It is always nice when the winter comes with snow and not just cold temperatures. My SO thinks the same and celebrated the snow fall by building this snow lantern.

Snow covered beach

by Henrik (21/01/10) Email

I spent a Saturday afternoon walking along the beach at Grötvik. It was during a beautiful day and the weather made it easy for me to take several nice photographs. These photos are probably going to be rare, because it's not every year in Halmstad that the beach is covered with snow during a sunny day. If it wasn't for the unusually cold winter this year, the snow would have melt away as soon as the sun came out.

Winter sunset

I snapped these photos on a afternoon when I was by a frozen lake and had a barbecue with a few friends and some other nice people I never meet before.

I like it when the ground is covered in snow, so I'm glad that we have had at least few nice days with snow this winter.

Notice the small new moon up in the corner.

By the moonlight

by Henrik (13 December 2008) Email

Today I went out and took a couple of photographs using only the full moon as a light source. I have never done this before and I was surprised how good the photographs came out. Although many of them came out blurry. The shutter speed was set on 15 seconds (my cameras maximum). And to give you an idea of how dark it really was, I sometimes had to use a flashlight to find a button on my camera.
